Since 1981, the Sunridge Alpine Ski Team has been providing young skiers in the Edmonton area with high quality ski race coaching in a fun and competitive environment.
Our vision is to Develop personal excellence on and off the slopes and instill a lifelong passion for sport.
Starting with the fundamentals of skiing, athletes aged 4-19 take part in a fast-paced ski race program based on the principles of athlete growth, development and maturation as outlined by Alpine Canada. As racers progress through the development phases they are introduced to Slalom, GS, Super G and Ski-Cross racing, as we have the fantastic opportunity to access a dedicated track at the SunridgeSkiArea.
As of 2023 we are operating cooperatively as two Boards of Directors together as the Sunridge Alpine Ski Team. The objective for the Sunridge Alpine Ski Team is to continue to maintain organizational coherence, while administratively operating as two clubs. Athletes who are U12 and under are part of the Strathcona Alpine Racing Club, and U14-19 and FIS SX athletes are part of the Sunridge Ski Club. All coaches from both clubs report to the Head Coach, thus maintaining the program coherence as one Sunridge Alpine Ski Team.
