Q: Do the kids need their own ski equipment?

It is not absolutely necessary, but highly recommended. For the kids to learn effectively and quickly, good-quality equipment is needed and sometimes not available from rental shops. And, yes they do need ski poles.

Q: How many kids are usually in each group?
We strive for no higher than 6-7 kids per coach.

Q: Do the kids have to race right away if they don’t want to?
No. The kids can choose to compete, or not, depending on their comfort level and desire. The kids are almost always nervous about their first competition, but our training prepares them for exactly what they will see in a race.

Q:What events do the kids race?
The kids race in slalom and giant slalom up to the age of 10. Beginning at the age of 11, select groups begin to compete in the highter speed event of super giant slalom.

Q:Does the club ever go to the mountains to race or train?
Yes. The club does have racing and training events for every age and every level in the mountains.

Q:Isn’t this really expensive?
Compared to other sports (hockey, dance, skating etc) you get the most value for your dollar. The breakdown of hourly coaching fees amount to approximately $2.50/hr.
